Terror on Tillson Street

Just down the block from Romeo High School—where Ryan and Mariah first laid eyes on each other—this is no ordinary Halloween display. Each October, the entire quarter-mile stretch of Tillson Street is transformed into a full-on fright fest, with nearly every home participating. This free, local attraction is drivable during the day, but is best enjoyed after sunset, when the street is reserved for foot-traffic only. Expect to see elaborate, professionally manicured Halloween decorations and a few spooky surprises, if visiting after dark!

Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill

One of the places Ryan and Mariah look forward to visiting each fall, Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill has something for everyone. Guests can pick their own apples, pumpkins, and other seasonal produce at the U-pick, enjoy classic family-friendly activities in Funland, and treat themselves to fresh cider, donuts, and other farm favorites at the Cider Mill. For those looking to linger a little longer, the Tasting Room features flights of hard ciders. And if you’re feeling brave, the Haunted Hay Ride at Blake's Big Apple is a must!

Stony Creek Metropark

One of the best places to observe peak fall colors, this park features a six-mile paved loop perfect for walking, running, or biking—or for rollerblading time trials—as Mariah is always chasing a new personal best! A little off the beaten path, there are a few scenic nature trails perfect for hiking: Reflection (0.5 miles), Landscape (1 mile), Osprey (1.75 miles), and Habitat (2.5 miles). You can also check out some Michigan wildlife and history at the Nature Center.

Frankenmuth

A bit further away, take a day trip to Frankenmuth, where Bavarian charm and small-town magic meet. Stroll the streets filled with boutiques and bakeries, enjoy a hearty chicken dinner, and don’t miss Bronner’s, the world’s largest Christmas store, bursting with twinkling lights and holiday cheer year-round. From riverwalks to rides in horse-drawn carriages, this festive town offers something for everyone and is a must-see for visitors of all ages.
